Marlon graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1979 with a commerce degree.  He joined Victoria office of Clarkson Gordon, Chartered Accountants as a starving CA student that fall.  He received his CA designation in 1981 whereupon he specialized with the firm’s Small Business Advisory group.

In 1986, Marlon left the national firm (then Ernst and Young, later to merge with KPMG) with three of the partners and a number of other staff to form Hutcheson Winterbottom and Blower, Chartered Accountants (subsequently Hutcheson & Co) .  In 1987, he was admitted as a partner to the firm and has seen the firm grow from a staff of 9 to over 18 full-time and part-time staff members.

Marlon’s strengths include many years’ experience in providing financial and tax advice to businesses and individuals, preparing financial statements, personal and corporate tax returns and advising on the goods and services tax (GST).

Marlon has served in his community for many years as a scout leader and soccer coach and has worked with many youth and adult groups through his church affiliation.   No doubt, part of this service stems from the fact that Marlon and his wife Kathy are the parents of six children and have just started their crop of grandchildren (8 and counting).
